Surat is famous for diamonds, textiles and, above all, food. Surtis take eating seriously, which makes for very good dates.
Food first
Share Surat's signature street food: locho, khaman and, in winter, undhiyu. Trying each other's favourites is half the fun.
By the sea
An evening at Dumas Beach with snacks from the stalls. Enjoy the view, but avoid swimming there.
